How much does a website cost in India, and what is in the price?
A business website in India is quoted anywhere from a few thousand rupees to a few lakh. The spread is mostly about what is actually being built, and partly about who is building it. Here is what each level costs at DevLune and exactly what is in the price, so you can compare like with like.

What is free, and why
Login and accounts, search, SEO basics and analytics. On a modern stack these are hours of work, not weeks, and a quote that lists them as paid add-ons is padding the invoice.
What you pay to keep it running
Recurring costs go to the vendors, not the developer. For most small sites they are close to zero.
- Apple Developer Program: ₹9,000 a year to Apple for your own individual account, renewing yearly. Or publish under DevLune's account and transfer later.
- Domain: about ₹800 a year for a .in, ₹1,300 for a .com, at registrar cost.
- Hosting: Vercel's free tier covers most sites; Vercel Pro is about ₹1,700 a month for teams or heavy traffic.
- Database: Supabase and Firebase free tiers are enough until you have real traffic; Supabase Pro is about ₹2,100 a month.
- Payment gateways charge their own per-transaction fee (Razorpay is about 2%); nothing is added on top.
Template site or custom build?
A template on a site builder is the right answer when you need five pages by Friday and will never change them. A custom build is the right answer when the site is doing a job: ranking for something, converting visitors, or growing into a product.
